They are GREAT shooters and no one makes anything as good today. Believe me, if I ever see a 6"er for sale, I will certainly buy it if it is at all reasonable. This was in the late 1970's-early 1980's, IIRC. They are great revolvers.mine is 37 years old and is just smoothing up from use! I plan on a lot of dry firing to help that along just a bit.įWIW, OP- The PA State Police were issued the same revolver you just bought - a 6" stainless with the wood grips- and they looked like they were carrying a cannon! I have little doubt that many bad guys calmed down considerably with one of those long barrels pointed at them. BUT i have not seen one for sale for several years. I have had maybe 5 or 6 Sex series Rugers over the years, and I had always thought they would be easy to find again. I paid $395 for it, and would gladly buy another at that price. Mine is a 1975 blue 2 3/4", in nearly new condition, but with no box and rubber grips*. Congratulations! My favorite Ruger revolvers are the Six series.
